D & I General Contracting began as a small, local crew built on one simple idea: do honest work, take care of people, and stand behind every roof. Founded by Ike and Deb Isenhoff, D & I General Contracting grew from a shared commitment to hard work and honest service.

Together, they built D & I into a name that government agencies, institutional facilities, and local businesses trusted with their most important projects. Today, that legacy continues under third-generation leadership as Derek Plummer carries the company forward—expanding into residential roofing while holding firm to the standards Ike and Deb set from the start.

Veteran-Led Roofing Contractor

D & I General Contracting was built by Ike and Deb Isenhoff. Today, Ike and Deb remain actively involved in the business while mentoring the next generation of family leadership—their grandsons Derek Plummer and Joshua Isenhoff.

Derek is a U.S. Army veteran who served four years with the 25th Infantry Division, 2nd Brigade, 1-21 HHC in the Pacific. Joshua served the Louisville District Army Corps of Engineers. That experience reinforced the values this company was already built on: preparation, accountability, and doing what you said you'd do—especially when it matters most.

D & I General Contracting is built on a team with deep experience across construction, engineering, and project management. Every member of our leadership brings certified expertise and a personal stake in the quality of the work.

Ike Isenhoff

With over 40 years in residential construction and a decade in coal mining before that, Ike brings 15+ years of hands-on experience installing commercial roofing systems including TPO, PVC, SBS hot- and cold-applied modified bitumen, and standing seam metal. Ike is a Certified Suprema Installer for SBS and a CertainTeed Master Shingle Installer.

Deb Isenhoff

Alongside a career in healthcare at UK Hospital, Deb brought her precision and people-first mindset to D & I, where she has decades of experience in residential construction and commercial roofing operations. Deb has designed award-winning kitchens and bathrooms and helped build over 300 homes. She has served as President of the Scott County Home Builders Association, was named Builder of the Year, and has earned honors multiple years running through the Scott County Tour of Homes. 

Joshua Isenhoff

Joshua combines academic credentials with real-world project leadership. He holds majors in applied physics and civil engineering with minors in math and business, and brings project management experience from his work with the Louisville District Army Corps of Engineers. That engineering background strengthens every commercial and institutional project D & I takes on. Joshua is a Certified Suprema Installer for SBS and a CertainTeed Master Shingle Installer.

Derek Plummer

As U.S. Army veteran (25th Infantry Division) with over a decade of experience in the construction industry, before stepping into leadership at D & I, Derek built and operated Plummer's Contracting and completed an internship with Prosecuting Attorney Brian Privett—giving him a sharp understanding of both field operations and the legal and contractual side of the business. He is a Certified Suprema Installer for SBS and a CertainTeed Master Shingle Installer.

Eugenio Ramirez

Eugenio earned his civil engineering degree in Mexico and brings 35 years of experience in general construction. He has spent 25 years with D & I General Contracting—first in general construction, then transitioning into 15 years of commercial roofing leadership. His engineering foundation and long tenure make him one of the most experienced members of the D & I crew. Eugenio is a Certified Suprema Installer for SBS and a CertainTeed Master Shingle Installer.
